San Marcos High Senior Anjuli Das Wins Lions Club Speech Contest

Santa Barbara Host Lions Club representative moves forward in state speech competition

San Marcos High School senior Anjuli Das has won the Lions District 4-A3 level Lions Club speech contest, whose theme this year was “What could the America of yesterday teach the America of tomorrow?”

Das represents the Santa Barbara Host Lions and earned a $4,500 scholarship and the chance to advance to compete for a total of $21,000 in scholarships in the next state contest.

— David Holmes is chairman of San Marcos High School’s Performing Arts Department.
