Have Your Say!
Like so many others, my wife and I are out of town. When we heard we were in an evacuation area we didn't know what to do. But thanks to a friend we were directed to your website and learned far more about the fire, weather, prospects, and damages than the incomplete Press News could offer. Thankfully, we'll be able to sleep better tonight.

I don't agree with this sentiment. One of the functions of Vector Control is to coordinate with other agencies to attack County wide pest problems in a coordinated manner. By keeping it in house both functions can done by less people. Privatizing this function would only add MORE layers of Government, not less.

The first photo in this article is incorrectly labeled "Flames roar up the mountain toward a Painted Cave home Thursday.". This is definitely not in the Painted Cave community. The fire isn't even close. This cabin looks to be like it's on the ledge half-way down the mountain across San Jose creek from Old San Marcos Rd. [Editor's note: Thanks for the head's up. It's been fixed.]
