$7,500 Reward Offered for Information Leading to Suspects in Apparent New Year’s Hate Crime

Santa Barbara police remain tight-lipped about the investigation into an apparent hate crime that occurred early on New Year’s Day but are pursuing several active leads.
Two men left a downtown bar in the early morning hours and were assaulted, apparently because they were perceived by their attackers to be gay, according to police. No arrests have been made.
“Two men were assaulted because of nothing that they did, nothing that they did wrong, but because of who they were,” Deputy Police Chief Frank Mannix said at a news conference and rally held in January to support the victims.
The Gay and Lesbian Business Association and Wildcat Lounge are offering a $7,500 reward for any information leading to the arrests and convictions of the attackers.
Volunteers are needed to distribute reward fliers. The group will meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Wildcat Lounge, 15 W. Ortega St., for a community meeting with police.
The first suspect has been described as 5 feet 4 inches tall, 160 pounds and was wearing a white and black plaid long-sleeve shirt. The second suspect is believed to be 6 foot 1 and was wearing dark clothing, while the third has been described only as wearing dark clothing.
One victim had a broken jaw and a head injury that needed staples to close. The second victim suffered minor injuries.
A bystander got part of the attack on video, and anyone with information about the case is asked to call Detective Michael Claytor at 805.897.2346.

Hate crimes go on every day—Gangs
Dems protecting the rights of gang members to hang out together, and the other parties who what them gone.
Gangs kill our family members every day, and the liberals want us to embrace that as just a part of life, oppose to destoying them forever.

Nothing they did? Why would anyone attack these two men if they did nothing to attract attention? Let me be clear, this kind of violence is unacceptable, period. However, if these two were minding their own business I can’t see what would have attracted such a violent and despicable attack. We usually get half the story in these kinds of cases. If these two were displaying some offensive behavior then they could have attracted the response they got.
In the end though, I hope the perpetrators get caught and jailed. There is no excuse for the kind of sick violence demonstrated here, none.

Yes, Bishop! They must have done something to attract this! Perhaps they came out of the Wildcat on Gay Night!
Just as rape victims must have done something to attract a rapist, right?

If you are in the jungle and purposely smear your self with bacon grease then walk about like there is nothing at all wrong with that you will survive about 30 seconds. All I am saying is there are animals out there in our urban jungles and we have the incredibly naïve notion that we can do whatever we want and not attract those animals.
Live in your delusional world stripped of reality witless clown, I have no doubt you will not survive much longer. Or maybe you will, spewing your nonsense from the safety of mother’s basement. You sound like all these idiots who think you can make life 100% safety by imposing top down command and control over every facet of life. Unfortunately for folks like you nature is a cruel teacher.
