Donate Today to Keep Noozhawk Growing
From time to time, we run a public appeal for donations to keep Noozhawk growing. By joining our Hawks Club, you can help us continue to expand our pioneering experiment in community journalism.
And we’ve really been tricking out the Conestoga wagon we’re driving across the unmapped New Media prairie. We’re about to unveil a new design to better display the features you want and to introduce a new content management system that will make it easier for you to submit your news and to interact with us. Thanks to a former colleague of mine, .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), we’re developing a business section that I think you’ll find very useful. And .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), our real estate sales director, has been working on a new Open House directory for our rapidly expanding Real Estate section.
You’ve probably read about our Common Sense California-sponsored public-engagement project exploring the city of Santa Barbara’s budget. In the heady days after we received the grant, we had expected to have the project well under way by now. As we began digging in to the budgets, reading Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports and interviewing officials, stakeholders and constituents, the magnitude of what we were tackling made us realize our preparation would take us longer than anticipated. We now expect to begin our series of investigative articles in mid-July. Based on what we’ve learned so far, we’ll have no problem engaging the public when we do open the UserVoice portion of the project and ask for your input.
We’ve got a great team of journalists, we’re excited about all of the projects we’re herding down the trail, and we very much appreciate having you along for the ride. If you can help us with a donation, we’d be obliged.
The Hawks Club accepts checks, credit-card contributions and even cash. Personal contributions to Noozhawk are not deductible as charitable donations.
