Jugglers from all over the western United States and beyond came to share their knowledge and skills at the 36th Annual Isla Vista Juggling Festival last month. A public show at the Isla Vista Theater raised money for the Santa Barbara Rape Crisis Center.

Alley of the Oaks
Alley of the Oaks at the Oak Alley Plantation in Vacherie, La. Three hundred years ago in the early 1700s, a settler planted an alley of 28 live oaks in two equal rows spaced 80 feet apart leading up to the Mississippi River. Live oaks have a life span of about 600 years and have a girth of up to 30 feet and 130-foot spread of limbs.

Solstice Workshop Is Open for Fun

This year’s Solstice festivities are scheduled for June 22-24 with the annual downtown parade on June 23.
