SEIU Local 620 Endorses Williams for Assembly
Service Employees International Union Local 620 announced Friday its endorsement of Das Williams for Assembly District 35.
SEIU Local 620 is the largest, fastest-growing union on the Central Coast of California, representing more than 3,700 public employees in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.
Its leaders cited Williams’ record of protecting local jobs, fighting for fair contracts for workers in the city of Santa Barbara, protecting benefits, working to pass living-wage laws and support for a workers right to unionize as the basis for their endorsement.
“Right now, we need proven leaders with a record of getting results for working families. Das Williams is that kind of leader. He doesn’t just talk about protecting working families, he has done it,” said Bruce Corsaw, interim executive director of SEIU Local 620. “During tough financial times, Das has been a voice of reason and fairness. Das has proven time and again, that he has the experience, record of results and values we need in Sacramento.”
During his tenure on the Santa Barbara City Council, Williams has been one of SEIU Local 620’s strongest allies. He has helped workers win fair wage increases as well as retirement and health benefits. In 2004, he supported the successful effort by hourly city employees to unionize. During recent budget negotiations, Williams worked to ensure that city workers avoided forced layoffs.
“I am proud to have the trust and support of SEIU Local 620. I have worked hard to fight for and deliver for the hardworking men and women of SEIU Local 620,” Williams said. “In Sacramento, I will continue to be an honest partner and champion for working families everywhere.”
— Mick Sherer is the education coordinator for SEIU Local 620.

And that clenches it. Like Obama, SEIU’s agenda is Das’ agenda. I was waiting for this.
Cross reference this articles to see what a Das victory will cost you in terms of union contracts with associated bloated salaries, benefits, bloated retirement packages, handouts to illegal immigrants etc. EXACTLY what has gotten us into this mess in the first place.
Das is a socialist (social and economic “justice”) big government union candidate, could it be any more clear?
He is itching to dig into the State Treasury (what’s left of it) exactly like he did in Santa Barbara.
He wants to further break the State budget, further drive out business and the middle class and further destroy the economy of this great state. NO THANK YOU! Had enough of that already. How about some CHANGE?

“supporting working families”
Translation: taking your money to give it to the growing illegal immigrant population (“affordable” [luxury welfare] housing, living wages) so he can get their votes.
He screwed Santa Barbara, now he is off to help screw up the whole state.

I have not seen a single endorsement from any entity other than a union. Why? Follow the money. YOUR money, as it flies out the window to support union interests.

Union families are the only ones who work hard and deserve jobs, good salaries and benefits? Only if Das gets in office, the rest of us will be sacrificing to pay for the bloated salaries, benefits, luxury welfare housing and retirement packages.

Well, of course the SEIU supports Das. He never saw a government employee salary or benefit increase he didn’t like. You can thank Das and his ilk for the financial troubles of the city, the county, this state, and many other governments as well.

Das has never met a tax or union he didn’t like. He started stumping for votes in Ventura 2 years ago, neglecting his duties as City Councilman of Santa Barbara.
If elected to the Assembly, his damage will be minimal, as he will start campaigning for the State Senate within 12 months.
He is the lowest, sneakiest politician, just wanted to live off the tax payers, not represent them.

Das Williams will be negotiating the SEUI 620 contract and city budget cuts to their members in a couple of months.
But no quid pro quo arrangement there, no siree!
