Tom Watson Kicks Off 23rd District Congressional Campaign
With his experience in the military and business, Tom Watson says he has what it takes to be the next congressman for the 23rd District.
Flanked by supporters, family and friends at his campaign announcement Thursday at Fess Parker’s DoubleTree Resort in Santa Barbara, Watson said if elected he would help cut government spending, encourage tax reform and job creation in the private sector, and keep an emphasis on national security.
“It’s simply immoral to burden future generations with debt they had no hand in creating,” he said.
A retired Navy officer and technology industry businessman, he said regular citizens need to take control of the government away from career politicians.
He spoke out against government spending, a hostile business climate and trepidation in national security policies, with an emphasis on responsible spending.
“I promise I will not waste your money,” Watson said.
Supporters spoke of his life experience and quality of character, saying he’s ready to give back again after many years of service.
He was joined by his wife, Leslie, and young son Tommy. The entire group sang “God Bless America” as a keyboardist played the melody.

Tom we do not need you— don’t even bother. Stay home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anything—but another phony conservative who drapes himself with the american flag and the blood of the brave men in women in our history who fought for what is right, who never saw a Tax cut he didn’t like-Tom isn’t pro business, Watson is another conservative puppet, Watson is for no. no. no. Watson wants “smaller” government, and more anti-american, anti-business laws that only help those that can already help themselves. No health care for anyone. Miniature american flags for all—don’t forget people-He has know idea what he is doing. Only regurgitating old and unsuccessful political themes that have those who eat from the hand of the republican party that live in fear of the illegals, gays, who are here to take the jobs us Americans would do.
My dear Watson. Why even bother??? Take your Tea bags and go home.
Clark we need you!

Could Tom Watson be more out of touch with Santa Barbara County voters? I doubt it—otherwise, he wouldn’t have kicked off his campaign at the Fess Parker DoubleTree resort…where rates *START* at $180 a night and rapidly ascend to the rarified air of $1000 a night.
But that’s not surprising, considering that Watson is an extremely wealthy corporate CEO who has never worked a hard day in his life.
