Santa Barbara County reported seven newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, according to the California Department of Public Health.
The county’s total cases rose to 1,656.
The county Public Health Department has stopped giving updates on COVID-19 cases on weekends, but it still must report new cases to the state, which does not provide geographic or demographic breakdowns within counties.
The state reported 16 confirmed COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Santa Barbara County, with another 11 suspected cases in the hospital.
Of those, eight and four, respectively, were in intensive care units.
As of Saturday, there have been 13 COVID-19 deaths in the county, including three inmates at the Lompoc Federal Prison Complex.
About 80 percent of county residents who have contracted the disease have fully recovered.
