Cuyama Valley evacuation warnings have been lifted as the Foothill Fire hit 95% containment on Saturday evening.
Officials on Thursday had canceled earlier evacuation warnings and downgraded evacuation orders.
One firefighter was injured, according to a CAL FIRE update released Saturday. Information about the extent of their injuries was not immediately available.
The fire stayed at 904 acres as of Saturday morning, according to Santa Barbara County Fire Department spokesperson Karen Cruz-Orduña, who said roughly 150 people are assigned to the incident.
“Firefighters continue mop-up operations, strengthen containment lines, and monitor for remaining heat within the fire perimeter,” she said. “Thank you to all firefighters, cooperators, and assisting agencies for their hard work and dedication throughout this incident.”
One structure has been destroyed in the fire that sparked Tuesday afternoon in the area of Foothill and Kirschenmann roads, east of New Cuyama.
The cause remained under investigation.
