AARP Foundation will provide free help with tax-preparation and E-file until April 14 at two area locations:

Goleta Valley Community Center, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays.

United Way of Santa Barbara, 1-4 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The help sessions are for walk-ins only with last check-in time of 3:30 p.m. at both places.

Taxpayers should bring all of the 2022 tax documents they have received, along with a photo ID, Social Security Card, and 2021 tax return.

While most taxpayers can be accommodated, certain returns are out of the scope of the AARP Foundation, including those with complicated self-employment, a K-1, rental income, or virtual currency. Such transactions require a paid tax-preparer.
