Ari Tapia scored a career-high 19 points and Justine Katz added 12 to lead Dos Pueblos to a 52-21 Channel League girls basketball win at Lompoc Tuesday night.
The Chargers’ aggressive defense forced 10 first-half turnovers. Coach Phil Sherman credited Lily Mires with “a great all around game,” with eight rebounds, 10 points and three blocked shots.
“Overall, the defensive intensity was there all night,” Sherman said. “Senior Ashley Gerken and Junior Leila Chisholm really set the tone for the night with their defensive attitude.”
Dos Pueblos is now 2-1 in Channel League play and 2-2 overall.
