Cate’s Olivia Dorion and Phebe Hancock scored four goals apiece and Elli Tunnel added three goals and two assists to lead a balanced attack in a 16-0 Channel League win over Nordhoff Thursday.
“Winning 15/16 draws and shutting down their attack with a shutout — there was exciting play all over the field,” Cate coach Renee Mack said. “However, most of the game centered on the attack.”
Tunnel started the scoring with a goal in the first two minutes.
“Olivia’s offense movement and intentional cutting provided her great offensive opportunities,” Mack said. “And Phebe simply led the attack and midfield. She sets the tone, calls the plays and raises the offense bar. She is simply a real threat on the field. I was most impressed with her play around the draw.”
With players sharing highlights with each other, “Overall it was a great team effort in Ojai,” Mack said.
