Quarterback Bennett Redell set the Santa Ynez career passing touchdown record in a 67-0 rout of Cabrillo in the final spring football game of the season Friday night.

Redell threw four TD passes in the game, giving him 39 in his three-yer varsity career. He had 11 passing touchdowns during the five-game season

The Pirates finished season that was delayed and shortened by the pandemic with a 4-1 record, losing only to Lompoc in the first game.

Logan Ast, who had a monster season running the ball, caught four passes for 110 yards, including three for touchdowns. He also threw a 42-yard TD pass to Declan Pollenz.

Cam Prendercast caught a touchdown and returned an interception 50 yards for a score.

The McClurg brothers contributed to the scoring with rushing touchdown runs. Canyon McClurg had a 38-yard run on a reverse. Cash McClurg finished the game win 54 yards on five carries.
