A bicyclist was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital on Saturday after a crash or fall in Los Alamos, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
Shortly after 10 a.m., firefighters and other emergency personnel were dispatched to the 9200 block of Foxen Canyon Road, fire Capt. Scott Safechuck said.
A witness saw the bicyclist fall or crash and the rider experience cardiac arrest, leading to lifesaving measures by a bystander.
The cyclist, whose name was not available, was treated by medics and transported to the hospital by a Calstar medical helicopter, Safechuck added.
The patient was reportedly speaking when he arrived at the hospital’s Emergency Department, Safechuck said.
