The 8th grade boys basketball team of Santa Barbara’s Big Picture Athletics won the gold division title at the Showtime Basketball Tournament at Mamba Academy in Thousand Oaks.
In the championship game against SCV Playmakers, BPA’s Will Harman hit the game-winning shot with 14 seconds left and made a block at the other end to seal an exciting 47-46 victory.
BPA finished second in pool play and edged the 805 Raptors Red team in the semifinals, 40-38.
Ford Harman poured in 27 points in the championship game, including 7 of 7 free throws, and had 18 points in the semifinals. Mikey Denver had a combined 14 points and 19 rebounds in the two games and Junior Villanueva had seven points and eight boards.
Tobin Shyrock dished off a total of 18 assists and had nine points and Waylon Finkel contibuted 10 points and seven assists in the two wins.
