Siena Urzua has enjoyed an amazing athletic career at Bishop Diego.
She is the rare student athlete to have won CIF-SS championships in two sports. She was a starter on the CIF-winning volleyball and soccer teams during her junior year.
On Wednesday, she experienced another big day in her high school life: She signed a National Letter of Intent to play Division 1 college soccer at Cal Poly.
Urzua signed her letter during a ceremony held in the Brick House Gym.
“I love the environment there and the coaches are super nice, and they’re really good coaches,” said Urzua of what drew her to Cal Poly.
The Mustangs are getting a student athlete that can play anywhere on the field and knows what it takes to win.
“It’s just crazy; it’s kind of a dream,” she said of winning two CIF titles in one school year. “I’ve been in the Bishop community my whole entire life — my parents went here, my dad was a coach here. It was the best high school experience. I’ve got two CIF rings. It’s been so much fun.”
