Santa Barbara High fell to a tough Oak Park team, 75-56, in a non-league boys basketball game on Saturday.

The Dons trailed by just six at halftime, but the Eagles, behind the scoring of Clark Slajchert, pulled away in the second half. Slajchert scored 34 points.

Santa Barbara coach Corey Adam felt his team gave a good effort against the No. 10-ranked team in the CIF-SS 2AA Division (9-2).

“I don’t believe the score is indicative of the two teams,” Adam said. “They made a lot of tough, contested shots.”

Bryce Warrecker had a big night for the Dons (5-6), scoring 32 points, and Jackson Gonzales added 10 points.

Adam praised the play of Cole Ekler. “He did a lot of the little things that will pay off down the road,” said Adam.
