
Santa Barbara High and San Marcos shared the Channel League boys basketball title and the league’s post-season individual awards.
Forward Bryce Warrecker of the Dons and shooting guard Tony Njia of the Royals were named the co-Most Valuable Players. The led their teams to 9-1 records.
For Warrecker, who is headed to Cal Poly on a baseball scholarship, this is the second straight year he’s been voted the league basketball MVP.
The Defensive MVP honor went to senior Jackson Gonzales of Santa Barbara and junior Isaiah Hicks of San Marcos.
The Coach of the Year Award also was split between Santa Barbara’s Corey Adam and Jelani Hicks of San Marcos.
San Marcos had two players named to the all-league first team, senior guard Tommy Condon and junior guard John Connolly. Condon is a repeat first-team pick.
Santa Barbara senior point guard Stephen Davis and Dos Pueblos senior foward Baylor Huyck also earned first-team honors for the second straight year.
