Santa Barbara High alum Jonnie Coleman made a layup at the buzzer to give L.A. Valley College an 83-81 overtime victory over San Diego City and advance the Monarchs to the California Community College Men’s Basketball State Elite Eight.
Coleman, a sophomore who graduated from SBHS in 2018, sprinted the length of the court and made the layup as time expired in the Southern California Regional playoff game.
L.A. Valley (25-5) will play Fresno City in a quarterfinal game at West Hills College on Friday night.
