DESCRIPTION:Attendees will enjoy a welcome drink while we give a brief introduction to our bean-to-bar\, dark chocolate making process. Ingredients for decorating will abound and inspire\, and you’ll learn a few tidbits about how we invent flavor combinations for new delicious\, sweet products at our chocolate factory. We will fill chocolate bar molds with luscious 75% dark chocolate\, and you will get to decorate chocolate bars with local ingredients\, like flowers\, salt and fruit. While bars are setting up (they require at least 15 minutes in a cooler before you can pop them out\, package and take home)\, we will lead a 20-30 minute chocolate tasting experience while you sip on perfectly paired wines to enhance the flavors. We are happy to provide a non-alcoholic tasting experience for anyone in the group who might require that. SUMMARY:A CULINARY ROAD TRIP THROUGH CALIFORNIA AT EL ENCANTO
DESCRIPTION:Gather under the stars in the Chef’s Garden on July 23rd for El Encanto’s Fostering Farmers Series celebrating coastal farms of land and sea. Executive Chef Alex Bollinger will team up with Michelin-starred Chef Scott Clark\, author of Coastal: 130 Recipes from a California Road Trip\, to cultivate awareness of California’s fertile culinary landscape and highlight coastal ingredients that reflect the cultural influences found along the Pacific Coast Highway through delectable cuisine\, lively conversations and a panel of distinguished guest speakers\, including Coastal co-author and journalist Betsy Andrews and photographer Cheyenne Ellis\, Dunite Wines’ Tyler Eck\, Spencer Marley of Marley Family Seaweeds and Devin Spencer of Cultured Abalone.

Perfect for kids ages 5 and up\, these projects use reclaimed materials in fun and surprising ways. \nNature Nurturer Projects include:\nExplorer Binoculars – Any seasoned explorer knows that binoculars are an excellent way to observe nature\, so make your own with cardboard tubes\, beads\, and other recycled materials!\nField Notebooks – Using cardboard\, recycled paper\, and creative reuse decorations\, you can create your very own scientific field notebook\, perfect for any nature walk.\nLitter Bugs – We’ve got crazy crawlers in the Makerspace\, so make your own litter bug with recycled materials that create new critters and keep scraps out of our landfills.  \nThere’s something for everyone at Crafternoons. Come craft\, create\, and explore the world with us! \nCost: $8.00 per person. Crafternoons are for kids ages 5 and up.  \nPlease note our workshop is upstairs and uses hot glue guns.
