The Nuclear Age Peace Foundation will hold its 37th Annual Evening for Peace celebrating Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs as its 2023 Distinguished Peace Leader. This award is presented annually to an individual who has demonstrated courageous leadership in the cause of peace. Professor Sachs is widely recognized for bold and effective strategies to address complex challenges including the escape from extreme poverty, the global battle against human-induced climate change, international debt and financial crises, national economic reforms, and the control of pandemic and epidemic diseases. The event will be held on the rooftop of the Canary Hotel, 31 W. Carillo Street in downtown Santa Barbara with dinner, live music, and remarks from the honoree, Professor Sachs.
