Carp Museum’s Marketplace kicks off summer season on June 24
June 24 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
Free
The Carpinteria Valley Historical Society and History Museum’s The Marketplace begins its summer season on Saturday, June 24, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the museum, 956 Maple Ave. in downtown Carpinteria.
A community favorite, the outdoor fundraiser is known for its assortment of vendors and their specialty foods, handcrafted gifts, toys, antiques, furniture, jewelry, clothing, and musical instruments, among other treasures. Granny’s Attic, the booth operated by the museum, offers household items including quilts, kitchenware, chinaware, and tons more with prices starting at 25 cents.
Vendor Mike Libby will have air plants, succulents, cycads, orchids, and other flora for sale. All plants offered are grown outdoors at the Carpinteria High School class of 1978 alumnus’ home, which he fondly refers to as his personal botanic garden since it is completely overrun by plants. He invites attendees to “come and find a new plant for your collection so he can make room for a new plant in his collection.”
Admission is free to the Marketplace. Hot dogs, cold beverages, and snacks will be available for purchase. Musical entertainment includes Mavis Hansen and the Ukulele Jammers.
For more information, call (805) 684-3112, email info@carpinteriahistoricalmuseum.org, or visit carpinteriahistoricalmuseum.org. The next Marketplace is scheduled for July 29.
