Professor King is a renowned scholar of race and politics in American political development, comparative welfare politics and labor market policy, democratization and immigration policy. He is the author of many books, including Making Americans: Immigration, Race, and the Origins of Diverse Democracy (2002) and, with Lawrence Jacobs, Fed Power: The Federal Reserve and the Great Recession (forthcoming).
