Friday, March 24, and Saturday, March 25, 10 am-1:30 pm
FREE educational workshop on home hardening and defensible space. Learn about home/landscaping vulnerabilities and solutions to prepare homes for the next wildfire. You MUST RSVP. Free lunch and 2 raffle tickets will be provided for in-person attendees.
On Saturday only, attendees will have the option to attend in person or virtually. A link for virtual attendees will be sent out before Saturday, March 25.
Tentative Agenda:
· 10 am-12 pm: Fire ecology overview and home hardening
· 12 pm-12:45 pm: Lunch (free, provided by the SBCFSC)
· 12:45-1:30: Defensible space
Reminder, on only Saturday, March 25th, 2 pm-5:30 pm there is a free exposition open to the public that continues to explore home hardening and defensible space concepts. NO RSVP is needed to attend the exposition. The exposition is being kicked off at 2 pm with a 45min talk and Q&A about the Future of Wildfire Insurance. There will also be many exciting exhibits such as our interactive home retrofit and defensible space models, plant ID table, hands-on vent retrofit demonstration, firefighter Q&A, fire extinguisher training, and a raffle!
