Lecture focuses on Nutrition and Diabetes Management

July 19 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Free

Lompoc Valley Medical Center’s lead Registered Dietitian Hayley Esdaile will speak about “Nutrition and Diabetes Management” at 6 p.m. on July 19 as part of the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation’s free lecture series.
The lectures are now being held at the Dick DeWees Community and Senior Center, 1120 W. Ocean Ave., in conjunction with the city of Lompoc’s Park and Recreation Division. Previously, the lectures took place at the hospital.
“Diet and diabetes go hand in hand and this lecture will teach you how to manage your blood sugar while maintaining a diet you enjoy,” Esdaile said. “This lecture will help you understand how different foods affect your blood sugar and the importance of including whole, nutrient-dense foods for your optimal health.”
The lectures are free and there is ample parking.
There are two more scheduled lectures this summer. At 6 p.m. on Aug. 23, Lois Trudeau Engelhardt, SLPD, CCC-SLP, will discuss “Speech Pathology: Communication Disorders.” The lecture will also be held at the DeWees Center.
At 6 p.m. on Sept. 20, Registered Nurse Leslie Kelly will discuss “End of Life Care: The Enlightened Ending.”
