Lifestyle Medicine Lecture

Lifestyle Medicine focuses on healthy nutrition, exercise/activity, quality sleep, stress management, having purpose and connection, as well as minimizing harmful substances. Dr. Vineyard cheers, educates, and encouragse, in whatever combination works for her patients, to move toward better health. She encourages lifestyle changes before medications when possible and safe, with the goal of improving or even reversing chronic conditions. She likens it to the analogy of an overflowing sink – Western medicine is often focused on mopping up the mess, but lifestyle medicine focuses on turning off the faucet. Whether with baby steps or giant leaps, she believes we can all improve our health and optimize wellness as it relates to each individual.
