Lompoc Civic Theatre presents The Revolutionists

April 8 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

$65.00

Lompoc Civic Theatre is back with a dinner theater production! The Revolutionists is a new play by Lauren Gunderson about four very real women who lived boldly in France during the French Revolution’s Reign of Terror.
The show runs for five performances only – April 8 & 22, May 6, June 10 & 17 at the Mission Club, 4300 Club House Rd., Lompoc. Dinner features French-inspired cuisine, with a choice of appetizers and main courses. Tickets are $65 for dinner and the show. You may make reservations online through FreshTix.com or by calling LCT at 805-735-2281. Advanced payment by check or credit card is required by the Tuesday before each Saturday performance. Doors open at 5:30 and dinner is served at 6:00, followed by the show.
This dream-tweaked comedy is about violence and legacy, art and activism, feminism and terrorism, compatriots and chosen sisters, and how we actually go about changing the world.
It’s a true story. Or total fiction. Or a play about a play. Or a raucous resurrection comedy that ends in a song… and a scaffold. It’s a dark comedy about four badass women during the French Revolution. Please be aware the show contains explicit language–after all, it’s about the struggle to survive the Reign of Terror!
The characters: Playwright Olympe de Gouges, assassin Charlotte Corday, former queen (and fan of ribbons) Marie Antoinette, and Haitian rebel Marianne Angelle. They hang out, murder the journalist Marat, and try to beat back the extremist insanity in the Paris of 1793. What started as a hopeful revolution for the people is now sinking into a hyper-violent hypocritical mess.
