Free

Santa Barbara’s SCAPE (Southern California Artists Painting for the Environment) will hold an Art Show & Sale Saturday and Sunday, October 14 & 15 at the Music Academy, located at 1070 Fairway Road, to raise funds in support of trail access, maintenance and restoration for the Santa Barbara County Trails Council.
Follow the signs to the Sunday show (10am – 3pm) and painting demonstration (12:30 to 1:30 by Filiberto Lomeli). Free and open to the public. Free parking will be available in the lower lot of the Music Academy.
Titled “Parks, Trails and Open Spaces,” the show, juried by Richard Schloss, owner of Santa Barbara Fine Art, will feature art highlighting Santa Barbara County landscapes including trails, parks, open spaces, seascapes, plants, animals and people. Sales will benefit the Santa Barbara County Trails Council (sbtrails.org). To date, SCAPE artists have donated over a quarter of a million dollars to local non-profit organizations from the proceeds of their art sales.
SCAPE’s motto is “Saving the Environment, One Painting at a Time.” Members are local and nationally known artists, students, patrons, gallery owners and others who support the arts and environmental sustainability. It is a diverse group who are committed to raising money through exhibitions to protect open spaces, and increase public awareness of environmental and conservation issues.
