The Revolutionists by Lauren Gunderson

February 3 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

$15 – $20

Lompoc Civic Theatre is back – at the Wine Factory!
The Revolutionists is a new play about four very real women who lived boldly in France during the French Revolution’s Reign of Terror.
The characters: Playwright Olympe De Gouge, assassin Charlotte Corday, former queen (and fan of ribbons) Marie Antoinette, and Haitian rebel Marianne Angelle. They hang out, murder Marat, and try to beat back the extremist insanity in the Paris of 1793. What started as a hopeful revolution for the people is now sinking into hyper violent hypocritical mess.
This dream-tweaked comedy is about violence and legacy, art and activism, feminism and terrorism, compatriots and chosen sisters, and how we actually go about changing the world.
It’s a true story. Or total fiction. Or a play about a play. Or a raucous resurrection comedy that ends in a song… and a scaffold.
The show runs from Feb 3, 2023 – February 12, 2023 (6 shows only!) at the Wine Factory in Lompoc. Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings (7:30) and Sunday matinees (2:00). Tickets are $20 or $15 for seniors, students, and active military.
The Wine Factory is located at 321 North D street (next to the Longoria Tasting Room). Please call 805-735-ACT1 for more information or visit our website or Facebook page.
