Carpinteria dropped its second Citrus Coast League girls soccer match, faling to visiting Malibu, 2-0, on Friday at home.

The game was scoreless until the 65th minute, when the Sharks were awarded a penalty kick for a foul called in the box.

The Warriors stepped up their play, but Malibu got behind a pushed-up Carpinteria attack and scored a second goal with 10 minutes left to seal the win.

“Overall, this seemed like a night where everyone was playing more individually versus any type of teamwork,” Carpinteria coach Charles Bryant said. “We are a better team than this.  We cannot have off nights in our very competitive league.  Hopefully, we got it out of our system.”

Carpinteria is 2-8-1 overall and 0-2-0 in league.
