Carpinteria rebounded from a first-loss and defeated Malibu in four sets in a Citrus Coast League girls volleyball match on Monday in Malibu. The scores were 11-25, 25-13, 26-24, 25-7.
The Warriors were led by junior Ainslee Anderson with seven kills and five service aces. Senior setter Marlene Sanchez disrupted the Sharks’ offenses with seven aces. Alex Zapata hammered seven kills and served two aces and middle Jada Priess blocked six attacks for points.
Carpinteria improves to 6-3 in league play, with one remaining match against Nordhoff at home on Wednesday.
