Carpinteria boys water polo coach Sergio Castaneda saw some bright spots from his team in a 21-9 loss against Thousand Oaks on Tuesday.

“Despite the tough loss, there was still some bright moments that indicate a hopeful future for the Warriors,” said Castaneda.

Gabe Medel scored three goals and put pressure on the Thousand Oaks defense all game. Sophomore Beau Persoon started the game strong with a quick goal and played good two-meter defense.

“The future looks bright for the Warriors,” Castaneda said. “Hopefully, they will execute some of their learned lessons at the Conejo Tournament this Friday and Saturday.”
