Carpinteria claimed a share of the Citrus Coast League boys basketball title by defeating Malibu, 52-31, on Thursday night.

The Warriors (16-8 overall) tied with Nordhoff for the title at 9-1.

Dylan O’Neill scored 19 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Carpinteria (16-8). Gabe Medel had 10 points and four rebonds, Jose Suarez added nine points and Ian Reed chipped in three points, seven assists, six rebounds and three steals.

The Warriors won the title in Scott Sorich’s first year as head coach. They’ll learn the CIF playoff draw on Sunday.
