Maune Contemporary art gallery in Santa Barbara is displaying the works of Columbian artist Esteban Ocampo-Giraldo in an exhibit called Piscinas.

The show opens with a reception, 5-9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 at the gallery, 1309 State St.

The event, which marks Ocampo-Giraldo’s first solo exhibit in California, features both his large- and small-scale original oils on canvas.

Ocampo-Giraldo is known for combining contemporary pop and realism. He captures icons of summer nostalgia like whimsical floats, bold-striped umbrellas, and relaxing chaises surrounding clear waters being warmed by the sun.

Ocampo-Giraldo will also give an artist talk, 5-6 p.m. Call 805-869-2524 for details about attending the talk.
