Although the Santa Maria Fairpark will not be hosting its traditional Santa Barbara County Fair this year, it is offering a lineup of in-person and online summer events,  starting in July.

The Santa Maria Fairpark will host Helm and Sons Amusements Greatest Portable Theme Park, July 1-4 and 8-11.

Also on the summer roster is the Santa Barbara County Fair Virtual Livestock Show and Auction, July 15-16.

Helm and Sons Amusements Greatest Portable Theme Park is similar to a traditional theme park in that the single-price entry ticket allows access to unlimited carnival rides, all live entertainment, shows, bands, and dancing in Dreamland.

The all-inclusive tickets at $25 for all ages are available now through June 30 by visiting the Santa Maria Fairpark website. Beginning July 1 tickets will be $30 for ages 10 years and younger, $40 for ages 11 and up.

There will be traditional theme park refreshments, such as kettle corn, funnel cakes, corn dogs and drinks. Food, drinks and games are available for purchase, and and visitors can take advantage of Magic Money, a cashless system that makes it easy to buy extras.

The park will be open 2-10 p.m. Thursday through Sunday for the event. For more, visit

Each year, kids in the community work hard raising animals and/or building a project for the Santa Barbara County Fair, so it was important to the fair administration, board members and volunteers to continue to offer the annual livestock show and auction.

This year’s virtual auction will feature market beef, goat, sheep, swine, replacement heifers, and industrial arts from the local 4-H, Future Farmers of America (FFA) and independent students.

To pre-register as a virtual auction buyer or to support the program by sponsoring a junior livestock award, visit the fairpark website.
