Community West Bank presented $100,000 to Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital Foundation for the capital campaign to expand and enhance Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital by relocating it from Santa Barbara to the Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital campus.

Marty Plourd, Community West Bank CEO, and Bill Peeples, Community West Bancshares Board chairman, presented the check to Arie Dejong, vice president of Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital, Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital, and Therapy Services.

“Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital and Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital are trusted and vital community resources, helping to restore the health of residents and their families throughout Santa Barbara County and beyond,” Plourd said. “Community West Bank is proud to contribute to the expansion of Cottage Health’s services.”

“Community West Bank was founded in Goleta, as Goleta National Bank, and has a long and proud history of supporting Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital,” Peeples said. “We are very pleased to do our part in support of the hospital and the community where we live and do business.”

“Cottage is deeply grateful for our partnership with Community West Bank,” said Dejong. “Their trust and generous support will inspire others to participate in the project and help bring the very best health care to our patients and community.

“Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital cares for patients with traumatic brain injuries, stroke complications, spinal cord injuries and a vast array of conditions requiring physical rehabilitation.

“Our patients, who represent a cross-section of our entire community, are surrounded by clinicians, state-of-the-art equipment and rehabilitative expertise to reach their recovery goals,” he said. “This gift will directly impact each patient’s journey.”
