Dos Pueblos setters Troy Fitzgerald and Grant Hughes did a nice job spreading the ball around in a 25-13, 25-18, 25-16 sweep of Santa Ynez in a Channel League match on Friday.

Senior libero Emmett Ehrnstein and junior outside Finn Hastings were instrumental in starting the DP attack with their consistent passing.

“They have both been working very hard this season on fine tuning their passing and it showed tonight,” said DP coach Ehren Hug.

The duo also had a combined 11 digs, Ehrnstein with seven and Hastings with four.

“They were great tonight and gave our setters lots of opportunities to set the middle,” said Hug.

Reid Sisney led the attack with seven kills and two blocks.

“Reid was hustling tonight and got rewarded a lot, The kid has a motor for sure. The coaches and I are really proud of the progress he’s made this season,” said Hug.

Hastings had five kills, Sean Ortiz five and Parker Randolf and Troy Fitzgerald three apiece.

The Chargers (2-1, 2-0) play at San Marcos on Saturday at least 6:30 p.m.
