Suffering a laceration to his chin, two swollen lips and a possible jawinjury, a 65-year-old man was treated for injuries after fallingoutside a restaurant on lower State Street. By his own admission, theinjured male assured officers’ it was his own two feet that caused thetumble and certainly not a sidewalk hazard. The man, who already hastwo artificial hips and an inner ear problem, said he was simply “in ahurry” and tripped over his own two feet.After filing the report as a public accident, the officers left theman at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital to continue his treatment inpeace.
