Beginning on Tuesday, Cottage Health will be accepting donations of medical supplies for use during the escalating coronavirus crisis.

Cottage Health officials are establishing a central drop-off center in the parking lot adjacent to Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital, 351 S. Patterson Ave.

Accepted medical supply donations include:

» Face shields, either single use or nondisposable

» Eye shields, either single use or nondisposable

» Isolation gowns or standard level-3 gowns

» N95 masks

» N99 masks

» Standard procedure masks

» Reusable P100/N95 respirators and cartridges/filters

» Respirator hoods or hazmat hoods

Sewn cloth masks will not be accepted at this time,  said Cottage Health.

The drop-off center will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, for an undetermined number of days as the local COVID-19 situation and the need for supplies becomes clearer.

“Many individuals and organizations are reaching out to Cottage Health to offer support through donations of medical supplies,” Cottage Health officials in a statement.

“Cottage is extremely grateful to the organizations and local businesses that have provided supplies to help restock protective equipment for health-care workers providing care at the hospitals.”

The global demand for medical supplies has been overwhelming, which has created shortages for many communities.
