The Santa Barbara County Probation Department delivered fresh fruits, vegetables, canned food, and essential personal hygiene items to families in need May 12-13. The items were donated by Harvest Community Center, Santa Barbara Farms, Family Services Agency, and Santa Maria Boys & Girls Club.

Deputy probation officers Denise Murillo and Marina Carrillo were involved in the delivery of the community care packages.

“It’s so rewarding. It’s a feeling I can’t describe and so emotional to know that we are making a difference not only in one person’s life but as a community,” Murillo said.

Statewide, probation departments continue to protect local communities and public safety. The COVID-19 pandemic has enhanced their focus and outreach to support client wellness and healthy families.
