Lompoc Health – North H Center will open its Vaccination Clinic Friday, Oct. 6 to administer the newest COVID-19 vaccine to anyone age 12 and older. Vaccinations will be available for Lompoc Health patients and the public on a walk-in basis.
The clinics will be held 1-4:30 p.m. the first Friday of every month at 1225 N. H St.
Patients are required to bring insurance verification to the Lompoc Health clinic to receive the updated vaccination. For those without insurance, payment at a discounted rate will be required prior to the administration of the vaccination.
Lompoc Health patients with children younger than 12 may schedule a pediatric appointment for vaccines. Anyone wishing to receive a flu or RSV vaccine should contact their primary care provider to schedule an appointment.
The most recent COVID-19 vaccine protects against possible serious outcomes of COVID-19 this fall and winter.
The CDC suggests most people ages 5 and older get one dose of the updated vaccine. Children younger than 5 and anyone with weakened immune systems may be eligible to receive multiple doses of updated vaccine.
The new COVID-19 vaccine was designed to respond to current strains of the virus. It is administered in place of the previous bivalent boosters, which are no longer in use.
