Traffic on Highway 101 south of Orcutt was stopped for a time Sunday after a cargo van and trailer crashed, according to emergency dispatch reports.

At approximately 12:35 p.m., personnel from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the California Highway Patrol and American Medical Response were dispatched to the scene near Solomon Road, between Orcutt and Los Alamos.

The driver of a southbound van and trailer apparently lost control and the vehicles ended up in the center divider.

Two people reportedly suffered moderate injuries in the crash.

A second ambulance and Calstar medical helicopter reportedly were dispatched to the scene.

Callers also reported an injured dog in the roadway, according to emergency dispatch reports.

Traffic on both sides of the highway was stopped due to the incident.

It was the second crash in the area Sunday. Emergency crews earlier responded to a vehicle that went off the road, ejecting the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
