Running back David Buso rushed for three touchdowns in his return to the lineup, leading Dos Pueblos to a 27-0 football win at winless Channel Islands on Friday night.

It was the first Channel League victory for the Chargers (3-3, 1-3), who were coming off three straight losses and were outscored 119-24. Channel Islands, in its first year in the league, fell to 0-2 in league and 0-5 overall.

Buso, quarterback Ryan Marsh and tight end Brett Jones returned from injuries, and that made a big difference as DP was able to sustain drives. Buso had TD runs of 5, 2 and 3 yards, and rushed for 98 yards.

The Chargers also got a strong effort from sophomore running back Danny Vidaure. He averaged 10 yards a carry for seven rushes.

Kicker Greg Tripathi booted a career-best 50-yard field goal late in the second quarter, giving the Chargers a 10-0 lead.

The defense recovered two fumbles, and tackle Nicolas Bitar and a tackle for a loss. Linebacker Cory Kazzi led all tacklers with eight.

Dos Pueblos is back home next Friday against Oxnard.
