An armed robbery that occurred early Tuesday morning in Orcutt remained under investigation a day later by detectives with the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department.

At 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to the 7-Eleven convenience store in the 4900 block of South Bradley Road for a robbery, sheriff’s spokeswoman Raquel Zick said Wednesday.

Deputies learned that a suspect had entered the store, threatened the clerk with a firearm and left with an undisclosed amount of cash before deputies arrived.

Detectives were continuing the investigation on Wednesday, Zick said.

The suspect was described as 20 to 40 years old with an average height and build. He was last seen wearing a blue surgical mask, a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, gray pants and gray shoes.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity and location is asked to call the sheriff’s department at 805.681.4100 or email Detective Esparza at rne3541@sbsheriff.org.
