The Dos Pueblos Little League 11-under All Stars won their Section 1 Tournament opener on the mercy rule, routing Thousand Oaks, 12-0, in four innings on Saturday at Orcutt National Little League.
DPLL tallied 15 hits on the day. Oliver Palmer, Zane Pflanzer, Andrew Wang, Jacob Stock and Philip Lowe each had two hits, and Lowe drove a team-high four runs.
Matias Csordas and Palmer each pitched two innings and combined on a three-hitter. The didn’t walk a batter and struck out three.
DPLL struck for three runs in the first inning. Juan Meza hit a sacrifice fly for a RBI and Pflanzer and Csordas ripped back-to-back RBI doubles
The bats stayed hot in the second inning. Lowe hit a two-run triple and scored on a ground out by Ryan Lem for a 6-0 lead. Palmer tripled into the left-center field gap and scored on a base hit by Estrella.
Wang had a RBI single and Stock ripped a two-run single to make it 10-0 in the third. DPLL added two more runs in the fourth and the game was called due to the mercy rule.
The DP 11U All Stars are back on the field Sunday against Lompoc Little League.
The Dos Pueblos 11U All-Stars consist of Andrew Wang, Finn Wansor, Isaiah Estrella, Jacob Stock, James Chou, Juan Meza, Luka Wilson, Matias Csordas, Oliver Palmer, Philip Lowe, Ryan Lem, and Zane Pflanzer. The manager is Chad Wang with coaches Matt Stock and Ray Pflanzer.
