Ten players collected hits and the Dos Pueblos Little League 13-under All Stars stole eight bases in a 6-4 win over Upland National in a third-round game at the Southern California State Intermediate All-Stars Tournament in Ventura on Sunday.
The tournament includes the champions of 10 Little League Sections throughout Southern California.
Dos Pueblos, the Section 1 champion, lost its second-round game on Friday against Encinitas Little League, the Section 6 champion, 10-0.
Upland National is the representative from Section 3.
Kian Palmer paced the DPLL offense on Sunday, going 2 for 3 and driving in the eventual game-winning run in the fifth inning.
Also score runs were Adan Macias, Jonah Pepper, Issac Gutierrez, Holden Brey and Skyler Ngai. Macias led the base stealers with three thefts.
Lefty Charlie Douglas pitched a solid 5.1 innings to earn the victory. Pepper got the five final outs for the save.
DPLL’s next game is on Tuesday at Ventura Foothill Little League. The opponent will be determined after a Monday night game.
The DPLL 13u All-Star team is made up of Matty Brennan, Holden Brey, Alex Casady, Max Cruse, Charlie Douglas, Issac Gutierrez, Kai Hicks, Carson Iza, Adan Macias, Isaac Moreno, Skylar Ngai, Seth Orozco, Kian Palmer and Jonah Pepper. The team is managed by Dan Brennan, with assistant manager Jeff Palmer and coaches Jeff Hicks and Mike Iza.
