The Dos Pueblos Little League 13u All Stars defeated El Rio Little League, 11-7, in a Section 1 Tournament opener on Wednesday in Arroyo Grande.
After DPLL got out to a 4-1 lead, El Rio put up four runs in the bottom of the third inning to go up 5-4. The District 63 champions answered with six runs over the next two innings to go take the lead for good.
DPLL used five pitchers, with Issac Moreno picking up the win.
DPLL will continue Section 1 play on Thursday against the host team, Arroyo Grande Little League.
The DPLL 13u All Star team is made up of Matty Brennan, Holden Brey, Alex Casady, Max Cruse, Charlie Douglas, Issac Gutierrez, Kai Hicks, Carson Iza, Adan Macias, Isaac Moreno, Skylar Ngai, Seth Orozco and Kian Palmer. The team is managed and Dan Brennan, with assistant coaches Jeff Palmer and Jeff Hicks.
