Dos Pueblos played its first boys basketball game and dropped a 53-51 decision against Rio Mesa on Wednesday night.
“It was great to be back on the court,” said DP coach Joe Zamora. “We started fast and we were able to do some good things in both the half and full court. The game was competitive and a good gauge for us as we get ready for league.”
Alex Perez scored 16 points to lead the Chargers, Kael Rillie had 11 and Joaquin Riker added 10.
“Alex Perez had a good night not only in scoring but showing leadership,” said Zamora. “Kael and Joaquin did a good job moving the ball and getting looks for their teammates. Hudson Squires came off the bench to give us a spark tonight.”
