Chloe Hoffman and Makeila Cervantes combined for 39 kills but it wasn’t enough for the Dos Pueblos girls volleyball team in a five-set loss at Oxnard in a Channel League match. The scores were 25-27, 25-23, 20-25, 25-21, 15-10.

The loss dropped the Chargers into third place tie with Oxnard in the league standings at 7-3.

Hoffman pounded 22 kills and picked up 18 digs to complete a double-double, while Cervantes had 17 kills. Middle Addison Low put away eight kills and Lucy Speier added five.

Sophomore setter Halle Rillie dished out 51 assists, had 15 digs, three aces and three kills. Malia Brofferio was the Chargers’ dig leader with 21.

Dos Pueblos (16-6 overall) travels to first-place Santa Barbara on Thursday.
