St. Bonaventure jumped on Dos Pueblos in the first and third quarters and beat the Chargers, 80-72, in a non-league boys basketball game on Wednesday night.
Dos Pueblos fell behind 27-16 in the first quarter but fought back and cut the Seraphs’ lead to 40-36 at halftime.
The third quarter went a lot like the first for the Chargers as they were outscored 21-10 and fell behind 61-46. DP won the fourth quarter 26-19.
“We shot the ball fairly well but we didn’t defend their shooters effectively,” DP coach Joe Zamora said.
Christian Barragan scored 26 points for the Seraphs.
Baylor Huyck scored 21 points to lead four Chargers in double figures. Parker Leadbetter had 15 points, Kael Rillie scored 14 and Joaquin Riker added 13.
“I felt that sophomores Joaquin Riker and Kael Rillie did a good job on both ends of the court,” Zamora said. “Parker Leadbetter played a physical game against their posts and Cole Collins was a big energy guy for us tonight.”
Dos Pueblos is 1-2 on the season.
